Boy oh boy, do I relate? The thought of shifting from mainstream to "following your heart" is worse than a 3 minute round of UFC!!! The constant punching, kicking, slap/slap (oh wait, no slapping in UFC that sounds more like a cat fight!) is agonizing. Let me dare say that this internal fight of choosing to follow ones deepest longings or not is far more excruciating than UFC because we are dealing with matters of the heart, which can easily take years to mend.
For a while now, my mind has been a live UFC rink. Circumstances and situations have thrown me around all over the place. Hmmm, so how do I find myself still standing? Aha, that’s because my strength and resistance lies behind my Coach and Referee. Yes, God has spared me from going crazy and kept me going even when at times I’ve been unconsciously dragged into a submission lock to the point where I’ve totally lost inhibitions and given up on the desire to follow my heart. Was that a run-on-sentence? Can I pause and catch a breath?
Seems like I’m a cheat if I say God is my Coach and Referee; because really, is there ever a chance of loosing? Well, that’s up to me. As of now, the game is set to my favor. And in all honesty, that’s how God rolls! He’s set everything on our advantage so that we can be champions!
In this match of life, I’m still struggling. Nevertheless, I’ve been driven to take on some challenges; one of which includes joining a yoga class (and if you know me, TRUST me, you’d know I think this is more of a torture). Still yet, no matter the rounds this life brings upon me, today, I choose to follow my heart because I know God is on my side! Namaste.
Jorge thanks for the inspiring newsletter. Keep ‘em coming!!!
